Two permanent deaths at the recent Galavast says to me again that, at least in WAR, we're having no problems at all having adequate PC turnover!

Personally, I'm not all that keen on Galavast any more. And It was my intro to NERO. I have an issue with the "Kill the Town" module at each one, and the "We gotta go in there and die, or the world ends" module at every one. Seriously, I fail to see why all of Galavast hasn't been sealed off and left to rot until the Greatest Blades and Spellcasters in the world can be gathered to clean it out. I am not going on any mod where I'm pretty much guaranteed to DIE. I may or may not be brave, thats STUPID. Now, that said, I'm a noob. I've played only a few games, and only 2 of them at Galavast. I'm still not all that clear on the underlying plot of Galavast. If there is a reason for all this, Someone please enlighten me. Crogar, Celestial Templar

Sweetie, this was the last Galavast. The last few events have been ending plot lines that stretch back ten and fifteen years. Yeah some of them are "gotta save the town" things. Build up that much history and it happens. But I don't think you are going to have to worry about playing there again for quite some time. The plots have been settled and laid to rest and that particular site is being used for Lumberton the rest of the season and for the foreseeable future.

Did you just ask why anyone would want to do epic plot? I can hang out and be alive at home, only at NERO can I save the world. Who cares about dying, heroes die, but we get to come back so its cool, and when I do finally die, I hope its on one of these epic mods and not to spiders....at least then theres a story. So you can keep your low action towns, personally, I love me some world ending plot, I love the cheesy uber bad guy, I love film noir which probably explains all of the above and I hope there will always be camps which at which I might die every weekend.

Have to commend Scott on his long letter, I actually made a copy of it to show our younger players here in Kazoo, It should be something that all up and coming players should take to heart. Again. Well said.

Spider-liches don't count these fall within the realm of epic.

I will second the idea that pro-active people get plot. But also to be careful to realize that just because you asked for something does not mean you should not consider the environment already laid out. Like... three gorgeous gypsy women coming to the shack 'searching for gypsy men' in the dark of night, who wind up getting captured and carted off to be sold by dark elves because unbeknownst to the gypsy women the region happens to have a large contingent of resident slavers.
Of course, that would never happen. (Sorry for being logically evil you three. Made for a great rescue though).

damn you people ramble on. Death buy backs suck. buying xp sucks. playing the game as a first generation war character ...since i was 14... the same damn character and dying once.....i think you people should buy some run speed with your goblin stamps. just take it like a champ and play the game like it was designed to be played....
not trying to offend anyone cause i like most of you people but seriously buck the fuq up. goblin stamps have hurt the game. thanks
no explinations, just goblins suck.......thanks

Concidering goblin stamps are built into the design, it is playing NERO as it was designed to be played. Goblin stamps haven't hurt the game nearly as much as shifting to the gold max-out system that has twisted the game economy so much. There's nothing terrible about rewarding people for helping the game. Do you really think people would put in the effort to give you a great game without getting something out of it? Would you rather pay the money it would take to buy all the props and hire the plot teams? We could do away with goblin stamps if everyone is willing to pay $75 or more per event.
Explinations supplied, goblins help the game........you're welcome
